Improving the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Aluminium Alloys Joints by Adding SiC Particles During Friction Stir Welding Process

نویسندگان

چکیده

This study experimentally investigates the influence of adding SiC on microstructure and mechanical properties aluminium alloys welded joints. The particles have been directly added into a zone friction stir welding (FSW) to make (AA6061–AA2024) composites material. Results show that effect refines grain size in by preventing its growth during FSW process. has significant thermomechanical resulting from restricting grains. indicated microhardness joints is increased 44 86 HV 9.2% as compared obtained without including under same conditions. It observed tensile strength enhanced when amount are up 6.9%.

Study of Mechanical Properties Change During Friction Stir Spot Welding of Aluminium Alloys

The Friction Stir Welding process is now 20 years old and the interest in it and its potential continues to increase dramatically. FSW can be applied to a multitude of products with varying material types and thicknesses. However, a continuous weld is not always required to meet the product performance requirements. Thus, one can consider some form of intermittent weld, such as Friction Stir Sp...

Effect of friction stir welding parameters on the microstructure and mechanical properties of dissimilar AA2024-AA6061 joints

In the present study, to resolve the problems in fusion welding methods as well as to increase the strength, FSW method was used to join aluminum alloy sheets 6061 and 2024. Moreover, optimal parameters for joining of these two alloys were also taken into consideration. Various tool rotation speeds of 565, 950 and 1500 rpm were selected. For each tool rotation speed, two traverse speed variable...
